"Friends"

I know I said I loved you.

I still can say it’s true,

But I can also say that

I am not meant for you.

You and I are different

In the ways of love,

And so I bid you farewell,

And thank our God above

For giving me the chance to

Learn and love and grow,

And I am sure you’ll move on.

It won’t take long, I know.

You, my friend, are special,

And I will always be

One who truly cares so;

Much more than you could see.

So if you need me call me,

And you know I’ll be there.

I’m so glad we are friends.
